Haul: Gelugu Accessories from Etsy

Come mio solito, invece di farvi vedere qualche utile swatch, vi farò un bellissimo quanto inutile haul di un'ordine fatto a Novembre tramite Etsy.com. Come? Non lo conoscete? Allora questo post potrebbe esservi utile, dopotutto! :P

As usual, instead of showing you some useful swatch, I'm going to write a beautiful and useless haul about an order I made in November on Etsy.com. What? Don't you know it? Then, this post might be useful after all! :P

Etsy.com è una piattaforma di vendita online, come Ebay diciamo, dove ogni venditore ha il suo shop online, ma l'immagine è molto più pulita e ordinata - rispetto a Ebay -, meno confusionaria a mio parere, e soprattutto con una filosofia particolare: si vendono solo oggetti handmade o vintage.
Si trovano cose particolarissime, con venditori provenienti da tutto il mondo. Ed è questa la grande incognita: la maggior parte dei venditori si trova in Cina, Hong Kong, Malesia o negli Stati Uniti ... ci sarebbe quindi il problema dogana - almeno, per le spedizioni in Italia -, ma basta contattare il venditore e accordarsi su un sistema per aggirare la questione (solitamente il venditore segna il pacco come "regalo", e indica un valore minore rispetto a quello reale), e magari evitare pacchi o pacchetti voluminosi.

Etsy.com is a sales platform, like Ebay, where each seller has its own online shop, but the image is much more clean and tidy - than Ebay's -, ess confused in my opinion, and especially with a particular philosopy: Etsy is only sell handmade or vintage items.
There are very special things, with sellers from around the whole world. And this is the great unknown: the majority of sellers are located in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia or United States ... then there would be the problem of custom - I mean, for the shipments to Italy -, but you can contact the seller and agree on a way to get around this matter (usually the seller marked the package as "gift", and indicates a minor value than real one),and perhaps avoid voluminous parcels or packages.


Ho scoperto questo sito grazie ad un video haul di LadyMija89 - qui! -, dove mostrava alcuni acquisti da due shop diversi. Io ovviamente sono andata a girovagare - questo sito è pericoloso, dovete saperlo! Una volta entrate non ne uscirete più! -, e ho trovato alcuni shop veramente carini! Ma ora veniamo alla sostanza ... Ho ordinato da due negozi differenti ... uno per ora rimane sotto segreto di stato - causa: Natale -, ma dopo le feste farò sicuramente un post review, perchè mi sono trovata veramente bene!
E ora andiamo al nocciolo del post, ecco le cosine che ho acquistato da Gelugu Accessories ...

I found this site thanks to a haul video from LadyMija89 - here! -, where she showed some purchases from two different shops. Obviously I went to take a look on the site - it's dangerous, you have to know it! Once entered, no one can came out! -, and I found some really cute shops! But now, the material of the post ... I ordered from two different shops ... one will remain under secret, for now - beacuse Christmas -, but after holidays I'll make for sure a review-post, 'cause I found myself really well with it!

Parere dal Dimenticatoio: Matitoni Essence

Review lampo di un prodottino limited edition di Essence, uscito un anno fa, orgogliosamente comprato e poi entusiasticamente abbandonato nel mio cassetto del makeup, sommerso da tutto il resto.
L'ho riscoperto recentemente, per fare qualcosa di iperveloce la mattina, e sembrare più sveglia al lavoro.

Flash review about a limited edition product by Essence, released a year ago, proudly bought and then enthusiastically forsaken in my makeup drawer, submerged by everything else.
I re-discovered it recently, to do a hyper makeup in the morning, and look more awake at work.

Non c'è molto da dire ... sto usando tantissimo Copper Rulez come ombretto, sulla palpebra mobile e poi sfumato col pennello. Così solo, senza primer, mi dura 8 ore e anche più, senza nemmeno una pieghettina! Ricordo di averlo usato come base - prima che finisse nel dimenticatoio - e ravviva tantissimo gli ombretti dorati/metallici. Più che color rame, a me sembra un oro sbiadito, ma mi piace molto!
Riguardo al Metal Battle, non so dirvi molto sulla durata, perchè lo utilizzo ancora pochissimo. Purtroppo non mi piace l'effetto sfumato ... il colore si spande in maniera non uniforme, e in certi punti sparisce ... esattamente come l'ombretto in crema dello stesso colore - Rock Chic, sempre di Essence -, recensito dalla bravissima Marguerite - qui! - ... questo mi porta a pensare che abbiano una formulazione simile, solo che uno è più cremoso (essendo in crema appunto, e non in stick).
Indagherò meglio sul Metal Battle, perchè mi par di ricordare che fosse buono come base, ma non vorrei sbagliarmi ... Nel frattempo, se anche voi avete dimenticato Copper Rulez, vi consiglio di rispolverarlo, perchè non resterete deluse! Ora vi lascio gli swatches:

Not much to say ... I'm using a lot of Copper Rulez as eyeshadow, on the lower eyelid and then smoothed with a brush. I use it by itself, without primer, and lasts 8 hours and more on me, without even a wrinkle! I remember using it as a base - before it ended in oblivion - and revives a lot gold/metal eyeshadows. More than copper, it seems to me a cold gold, but I really like it!

About the Metal Battle, I can not tell a lot about life, because I use very little yet. Unfortunately I do not like the smooth effect ... the color is spread unevenly, and in some points disappears ... just like the cream of the same color eyeshadow - Rock Chic, always from Essence -, reviewed by the talented Marguerite - here! - ... This leads me to think that they have a similar formulation, except that one is more creamy (just as in cream, and not in stick).

Better investigate the Metal Battle, because I seem to recall he was good as base but I would not be wrong ... In the meantime, if you have forgotten Copper Rulez, I suggest you brush up, because you will not be disappointed! Now I leave the swatches:

SOS: Unghie spezzate!

Chi di voi non ha mai avuto problemi di unghie spezzate? Beh, beate voi!
Le mie unghie sono come un orologio, a Ottobre e a Marzo/Aprile iniziano a spezzarsi senza pietà. Questo problema lo risolvo facilmente tenendole un po' più corte del solito, ma quello che non capisco è il modo in cui si spezzano le unghie dei miei pollici. Sì, perchè mi si spezzano SEMPRE sul lato esterno, e a metà unghia - che è un punto molto strano, perchè non è che ci inciampo dentro, no? -.
Spezzandosi così in basso non posso certo tagliarle, quindi? Come fare?
Ma ecco che Essence accorre in nostro aiuto!

My nails are like a clock, in October and March/April, start to break with no mercy. Mi cimento in questa sorta di "review" perchè non ne ho mai lette su questo prodotto, e ad essere sincera l'ho preso perchè lo trovai a 0.99 cent quest'estate, e mi son detta "Perchè no? Magari funziona!", e così è stato! Chiariamoci: questo non aiuta di certo le vostre unghie a saldarsi magicamente come nulla fosse.
Semplicemente la sua funzione è quella di tenere insieme l'unghia, evitando che l'angolino spezzato inciampi in cuciture, cerniere, angoli, etc, rischiando di strappare l'unghia.

I attempt in this sort of "review" 'cause I've never read about this product, and to be honest I got it 'cause I found it to 0.99 cents this summer, and I said to myself "Why not? Maybe it works!" and so it was! Let's be clear: this does not help your nails to magically weld.
Its function is simply to hold together the nail, avoiding tripping over the broken corner in seams, zippers, angles, etc., threatening to tear the nail.

Èvvintage: Cose scovate da mamma e papà

"Non si butta via niente!", detto popolare usato soprattutto da nonnini e nonnine.
In realtà è vero, tenendo fede a questo detto, gli armadi dei vostri genitori (o addirittura nonni) possono diventare un posto dove scovare nuove meraviglie!

"Do not throw anything away!", popular saying mostly used by grannies.
In facts it's true, keeping faith in this saying, your parents' closet (or even granparents') may become a place to discover new wonders!


L'altro giorno, mentre cercavo negli armadi un po' di stoffe e nastri, per ravvivare la mia pochette triste - qui! - ho trovato questo piccolo oggettino, tanto carino e tanto solo! È un vecchio porta obbiettivo di mio padre, che ha la passione della fotografia, che però ora era lì vuoto e a far niente, tutto solo. Quindi, armata di occhioni dolci, ho chiesto al genitore se gli serviva, ne aveva bisogno, doveva tenerla ... "No, tienilo pure", è stata la risposta che attendevo, ed ora èmmiooo! Per cosa potrei usarlo? Mmmh, porta kabuki (che non ho, ma sono dettagli!)? Credo lo userò come portagioie da viaggio :)

The other day, while I was looking for fabrics and ribbons in the cupboard, to revive my sad clutch - here! -, I found this little cute and lonely thing. It's a case for a camera eye, it's my father's, who has a passion for photography, but now it was empty, and not used. So, armed with sweet eyes, I ask my father if he needed it, or if he wanted to keep it ... "No, keep it well", it was the answer I was waiting for, and now it's mineee! For what could I use it? Mmmh, as case for a kabuki brush (the fact I don't have one is just a detail!)? I think I'll use it as a travel jewerly box :)

Altra scoperta, questa volta direttamente dall'armadio di mamma. Dopo aver visto la mia pochette di Asos - qui! -, forse per la misura, forse per un collegamento a me ignoto, è andata a ripescare una borsa/busta grande che aveva preso appena sposata (più di trent'anni fa!). La borsa è in pelle, e ha una tracolla che si può staccare (e penso la terrò staccata, usandola come pochette).
Non è bellissima?

Another discovery, this time directly from my mother's closed. After seeing my big clutch from Asos - here! -, maybe for the size, maybe for a unknown link to me, she went to take a purse/large envelope that she had bought when she was just married (like thirty years ago!). It's a leather bag, with a shoulder belt that can be removed (and I think I'll keep it off, using it as a clutch).
Isn't it  beautiful?

DIY: Color Block Minimal Pochette

Dopo un pomeriggio passato a realizzare una cosa che rimarrà conosciuta come "cosa" - siamo in periodo natalizio, suvvia! -, ho approfittato del caos e del materiale che avevo in giro, per ridare vita ad una vecchia borsetta inutile, trovata in un Donna Moderna nel V secolo a.C.
Chiedo perdono, ma nell'entusiasmo di ripercorrere i gloriosi passi di Giovanni Mucciaccia con Art Attack, prima, e Barbara di Paint Your Life, poi, non ho scattato foto nè prima, nè durante il procedimento. Non vogliatemene ♥

After an afternoon spent to create something that will be known as "thing" - we're on Christmas time, come on! -, I took advantage of the chaos on my desk and the material I had around, to give life to an old useless bag, found in a Donna Moderna in the fifth century B.C.
I ask forgiveness, but in the enthusiasm to retrace the glorious footsteps of Mr. Mucciaccia with Art Attack, the first, and Ms. Barbara with Paint Your Life, then, I haven't taken pictures before or during the proceedings. Don't get angry ♥


Quello di cui avete bisogno è:
- Borsa/busta/pochette tinta unita (materiale a piacere, triste e senza applicazioni);
- Nastri, nastrini e passamanerie (di stoffa eh! Mica per i pacchetti regalo!);
- Colla a caldo.

What you need is:
- Bag / envelope / clutch, one color (material as desired, sad and without applications);
- Ribbons and trims (fabric ones! Not for gift packages!);
- Hot glue.


Il procedimento è semplice ... provate varie composizioni con i nastri e le passamanerie sulla vostra busta. Potete sovrapporli, farli girare intorno, applicarli tipo "pezza", non c'è limite alla vostra fantasia. L'importante è che troviate una composizione che vi piace, e che abbiate bene in mente come "fermare" i nastri, senza farli sfilacciare ovunque.
Ora armatevi di pistola (della colla a caldo!), e di un libro, qualcosa, o qualcuno - e ringrazio il mio qualcuno! - che tenga fermi e in posizione i vostri nastri, di modo che voi possiate incollarli prima da una parte e poi dall'altra. Per non far sfilacciare i nastri, ho ripiegato la fine su se stessa e l'ho incollata per bene! E questo è il risultato:

Et voilà! Non è niente di che, magari non sarà perfetta, o rifinita ad arte, ma non mi dispiace affatto! Ho voluto usare un colore che uso raramente - è troppo ggggiallo -, col nero, per creare l'effetto color block! ... Sì, continuiamo a raccontarcelo xD
Notiamo il moschettone, riciclato da un cordino per cellulare che non usavo mai, e il polsino, gentilmente cucito da mamma :D

Et voilà! That might not be perfect, or refined to art, but I don't mind at all! I wanted to use a color that I rarely use - yellow -, to create the color-block effect! ... Yes, we continue to tell us about it xD Note the cuff, kindly sewn by my mother :D


ps: se vi viene l'idea di usare dell'Attack al posto della colla a caldo ... non fatelo! L'Attack penetra nella stoffa, e resterebbero le macchie. In alternativa potete usare della colla Vinavil, credo. Non sono sicura di ciò ... vabbè xD

Eh, si sa, quando ci sono sconti e promozioni noi donne non sappiamo resistere. E ho recentemente appurato che per me è molto più pericoloso un negozio online, che non entrare in un negozio in liquidazione! Sarà che non ho il senso della misura "reale" - ovvero trasportare in giro pesanti borse e sacchetti pieni di acquisti -, sarà che online si riesce a trovare quella cosa che hai cercato per mari e per monti, in tutti gli angoli di ogni centro commerciale, senza mai avere successo.
Fatto sta che Domenica scorsa, ho fatto un ordine su ASOS!

Sono iscritta alla newsletter da qualche mese, e ogni tanto mi piace girovagare, per vedere se c'è qualcosa che mi piace, che comprerei, o solo per crogiolarmi in cose troppo costose per le mie tasche. Sì, perchè i prezzi di ASOS sono un pochino altini, partendo da un minimo che si aggira sul livelli di Zara, per intenderci.
Però quando ho ricevuto una mail con la pubblicità degli sconti sulle borse e accessori, ho iniziato a farci seriamente un pensierino!
